Obituary for Sophie Roberson (nee Dubeck)

Sophie Roberson (nee Dubeck)
Sophie died peacefully on January 8, 2015. She was predeceased by her parents George and Annie, all her siblings, her husband John William, and her only child, daughter Linda. Sophie was born in Sclater, Manitoba on November 5, 1923 and grew up on the farm. In her late teens, she moved to Winnipeg for two years, housekeeping for a doctor's family, then settled in Vancouver. A young widow, she went to work at Vancouver General Hospital Laundry for 40 years. She looked after her father-in-law (Edward), then Linda in their final years. Sophie loved dogs and gardening and admirers often photographed her myriad of beautiful flowers. At her request, there will be no service. A grateful thanks to the staff of Purdy 1, UBC Hospital, for their consideration and kindness throughout Sophie's care there.
