Obituary for Elaine Wai Ling Yim

Elaine Wai Ling Yim
Elaine Wai Ling Yim passed away peacefully on January 7th, 2016 in Vancouver BC at the age of 73. Predeceased by her father Yim Chip Ko and mother Wong Yuk Tim. She will be lovingly remembered by her son, Hardy (Susana); her grandchildren, Lauren and Markus; sisters, Annie (Hung Tak) and Lily; brother, Johnson (Janti); nieces, nephews, relatives, and a long list of friends.

Elaine was a diligent, hard worker in the dental field for over 48 years. She valued the relationships formed during her career. Elaine was a woman of faith that served the Lord with music by singing at various church choirs. She loved to travel, volunteer (at St. Paul’s, VGH and the VSO), line dance, go for walks on the seawall and enjoyed good meals with family and friends. Elaine truly cherished her relationships with friends and family.

We would like to thank the staff at the Palliative Care Unit of VGH in Vancouver, Dr. Tinus Wasserfahl, the Three Bridges community health care staff and all her friends who showed their love and kindness in her last few weeks.

Prayers will be said on Tuesday, January 19, 2016 at 7:00 p.m., at St. Patrick’s Church, 2881 Main Street, Vancouver, BC, where a Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Wednesday, January 20, 2016 at 11:00 a.m., directly followed by a Celebration of Life at the parish hall. Fr. James Hughes as celebrant. Private interment to follow at a later date at the Gardens of Gethsemani in Surrey, BC.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the BC Cancer Agency or Covenant House Vancouver.
