Obituary for Mary Jane Phillips (Sosnowski)

Mary Jane  Phillips (Sosnowski)
Passed away on December 20, 2016 in Augustine House, Delta, BC. She is survived by her husband Michael, brother Thad, sister Isabelle, goddaughters Malinda Lee & Cathy Lo and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mary Jane was a perennial scholar and teacher. She was a graduate of both St. Mary’s Academy and the University of Manitoba, and had a post graduate degree in Couselling from the University of Minnesota. She taught at Public and Private Schools as well as at the Adult Education Centre in Winnipeg.

After retiring, her spare time was devoted to Porcelain Art. She studied with numerous artists but developed her own unique and understated style. Her Porcelain Art was marketed and distributed nationally and internationally by Butchart Gardens on Vancouver Island. Mary Jane was also very active in community and volunteer work, as well as her church related work.

Mass of Christian Burial at Gardens of Gethsemani's Chapel, 15800 32nd Avenue, Surrey, BC, on Wednesday, December 28th at 2:00pm, Fr. Stanley Galvon celebrant.
