Obituary for John Franklin Huguet

John Franklin Huguet
It is with great sadness that we mourn the loss of John Franklin Huguet.

John was born December 28, 1945 in Neepawa, Manitoba to Avery & Marjorie Huguet. John grew up in East Vancouver with his older brother Courtney. In 1964 John began working at Commonwealth Construction Company. Over his 33 years there he worked his way up to become President & CEO.

His work took him all over the world and on one of his many adventures; he met Nora Villavicencio in Lima, Peru. They were married March 21, 1980 in Lima, Peru. Following their marriage, they moved to Edmonton, AB where they started their family together.

They welcomed Nora ‘Jovanna’ into the world in 1980 and Jessica Natanielle in 1983. John also had two daughters from a previous marriage, Michelle Ring (née Huguet) and Amber Huguet-Epstein who lived in Vancouver, BC. John and Nora relocated to Vancouver in 1983 and set down roots on the North Shore.

In 2003 John started a new business adventure in Mining. He thrived in this new career path and helped build many small companies and mines. During the latter part of his life, John continued to work always-finding new and exciting projects; he was always busy and never bored.

Throughout his life, John was an avid golfer, enjoying hundreds if not thousands of days on the course. He adored sports and was a huge fan of the Vancouver Canucks and BC Lions.

John is survived by his wife, Nora; his four daughters, Michelle, Amber, Jovanna Burke (Andrew) and Jessica Young (Casey); and his grandchildren, Evelyn & Felix Burke, Pearl, Belle &Hazel Young, Avery & Paige Ring, Devon Wood-Epstein & Sadie Epstein. John's friends and family members miss him dearly.
