Rick passed away peacefully, on April 27, 2017 with his wife, Jessica at his side.

He was predeceased by his sister, Karen Wall in 2015. Rick is lovingly survived by his wife, Jessica Wei Hong Yi; brother, Randy; and his parents, Robert and Pauline. Also missing him are his in-laws, Jian Yi and Xuexia Huang; sister-in-law, Weiqing Yi (Yongzhong Qiu); niece, Jiabei Qiu; nephew, Alex Wall; and many family and friends.

Rick conquered the challenges of climbing Mount Everest not only once, but twice. He was proud and enjoyed working with the RCMP.
