Obituary for Margaret "Ella" Phillips (Dixon)

Phillips, Margaret Ella (nee Dixon) April 2nd, 1922 – September 19th, 2017

With her loving son beside her, Margaret (Marnie) peacefully slipped from this world into the solace of Heaven and the ever-patient waiting arms of Ernie. Marnie was born in New Westminster April 2,1922, the first child of Lottie and Joseph Dixon. She was joined with siblings Adeline and Charlie soon after. Marnie was raised at the crossroads of Cornwall and 11th Street where she would find lifelong friendships with the kids of the “11th Street Gang”. On September 6,1947 Marnie married Ernie Phillips at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in New Westminster and enjoyed 64 years of wedded happiness. In 1955 their beloved son Richard (Rick) was born and the “Three Musketeers” were complete. Marnie’s life revolved around her love of family, friends and the little house on Bowler Street. In 1979 Rick married Beth (nee Cornish) and later the addition of two grandsons, Bradley and Clark couldn’t have made her feel more blessed. Marnie would be the first to tell you what a loving and wonderful life she was gifted with. We will miss you Mom.

A service of remembrance and celebration will be held Monday, October 2, 2017 @ 11:00 am at Kearney's Columbia-Bowell Chapel, 219 – 6th Street, New Westminster. BC
