Obituary for Zivka Krsmanovic (Djuric)

Our beloved mom, grandmother (“baka”) and aunt, Mrs. Zivka Krsmanovic, passed away on 4th October 2017 after a courageous battle with lung cancer, with her loving children by her side.

Zivka was born in Smederevo, Serbia, on May 28, 1941, the daughter of Milan and Rajka Djuric. She married Tosa Krsmanovic on July 15, 1967 in Sarajevo, and stayed married until his untimely death on June 18, 2001.

Zivka was a high school English teacher for forty years. When she retired in 2010, she moved to Vancouver, to join her family.

She is survived by her daughter Danka (Lazar), son Dragan (Cveta), grandchildren Tara and Todor, and nieces Aleksandra (Andy) and Tatjana (Aleksandar).

Zivka had a busy, dynamic and beautiful life.

Our mom loved our Serbian Orthodox Church and lived life to the fullest. She enjoyed teaching, singing in her church choir, playing piano, theater, hiking, traveling, and loved her family and friends.

She was a kind woman, and touched the lives of others with her wisdom, compassion and love.

We will miss her as long as we live.

The Christian Funeral Service will be held on October 14, Saturday, at 1 p.m., in St. Sava Serbian Orthodox Church, 505 63rd Ave. E. , Vancouver.

In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Sava Serbian Orthodox Church in our mom’s name would be greatly appreciated.
