Frank Evans passed away on October 31, 2017, at Mount St. Joseph's Hospital in Vancouver, B.C. at 87 years of age. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Karole, and his 3 children: Aeron (Annie); Collean (Richard); and Walker (Nytasha). Frank is also survived by his five grandchildren: Alex, Hilary, Courtney, Schyler, John and Meryl. The family's dearest memories of Frank are as an adoring husband, a devoted father, and a faithful friend. All who knew Frank can attest to his integrity - his word and his handshake were as good as a written contract, while his sense of humour and enjoyment of storytelling could keep people amused for hours.

Frank was the youngest son of George Norris Evans, the lead architect on numerous school and hospital projects in the city, and his wife, Gladys, both deceased. His favourite uncle, Frank Evans, was Superintendent of Wharves in Vancouver. Born in Vancouver, Frank grew up on Little Mountain, and continued to live in Vancouver for many years. He worked at Glaxo Smith Kline, and then as a Pharmaceutical Consultant specializing in Biologics. Frank and Karole retired to Kelowna for 25 years, undertaking extensive international travel during this time. More latterly, they returned to Vancouver, settling in the West End, where Karole continues to reside.

Frank was a man of many talents and interests. His greatest talent was photography, from framing the shot to clicking the shutter to developing the photograph in his own darkroom. As you can tell, given his enjoyment of the process, he preferred 'old school' methods. Throughout his life, Frank also took real pleasure in fishing, first as a young boy with his Uncle Ernie and then with his son, Aeron. He was also a talented pianist and organist, playing the organ for the Mount Olivet Lutheran Church for many years, two services every Sunday. Finally, Frank found real pleasure in helping others, and was continuously donating his available time to charitable organisations. For example, he was Provincial President of the Canadian Mental Health Association for two years running.

His funeral is at 10:30 am, Monday, November 20, 2017 at Christ Church Cathedral, 690 Burrard St., Vancouver (viewing starts at 10:00 am). This will be followed by a reception at 12 noon at the President's Room East, the Vancouver Club, 915 W. Hastings St., Vancouver.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Mental Health Association (the CMHA) would be greatly appreciated.
