Caunt, Thomas Richard

June 15, 1937 – November 9, 2017

We are sad to announce the loss of our much-loved husband, father, grandfather and brother. Richard passed away peacefully at St. Michael’s Hospice, Burnaby, with his family gathered around him. After a successful battle with cancer in 2015, he endured a 2-year decline with side effects from treatment, culminating in several small strokes. Richard retired from 34 years of a teaching career to devote time to his family to whom he was an example of love, respect, generosity and kindness. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Margaret (Grieve), 4 married children and 5 grandchildren. Also, his sister Eleanor Brook of Silverdale, WA, USA., 1 niece and 1 nephew. Our thanks to Dr. Paletta at RCH and the wonderful caregivers at St. Michael’s. There will be no formal service at Richard’s request. A family celebration of life will be held at a later date.
