Obituary for Patricia Anne Ceraldi (McMillan)

Patricia Anne Ceraldi (McMillan)
1941 - 2017 Patricia Anne Ceraldi, 76, passed away peacefully November 21, 2017, surrounded by her loving family. She met each challenge of her short battle with leukemia with grace and dignity, never once complaining of her suffering. She was a selfless and loving woman, generous with her smile and compassion.

Patricia was born in St. Thomas, Ontario to the late Daniel and Dorothy McMillan. As a child, Patricia dreamt of becoming a pilot, inspired by her bush-pilot father, before moving from camp life in Manitoba to spend her teenage years in Toronto. Patricia grew into a great beauty, catching the eye of a handsome Italian named Anthony Ceraldi at a Catholic Youth Organization function in Vancouver: a fateful event that lead to an enduring marriage of 56 years and many wonderful friendships that lasted a lifetime.

Patricia's greatest passion was her family. Quite simply, Patricia's children and grandchildren were her life. She made every birthday and Christmas memorable with her unique touches. Her generosity extended to community work with the CWL and the many charitable events and organizations she helped assist through The Red Hat Society and her sorority, Beta Sigma Phi, Delta Master Chapter.

Patricia is survived by her husband Anthony, children Christina, Anna (Peter), Joseph (Monica), Johnathan, James (Karen) and grandchildren Shanna (Cody), Gina, Conlan, Kellen and sister-in-law Loretta Ceraldi. She was predeceased by her sister Georgina Margaret.

Patricia had a deep and abiding faith. She believed angels walk among us, helping guide us through this life on Earth and into the next. Prayers will be offered for her soul on Tuesday, November 28th at 6:30pm at St. Stephen's Catholic Church, 1360 24th Street in North Vancouver. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Stephen's at 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 29th.

Heartfelt thanks for the compassionate care given by the many first responders, the chemo and palliative care nurses at Lion's Gate Hospital and to Dr. Mary Robertson.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Patricia's name to Covenant House Vancouver.
