Obituary for Garry Stevenson

STEVENSON, Garry Pio
July 22, 1951 - November 11, 2017

It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved husband and father, Garry Pio Stevenson. On Saturday, November 11, 2017, after battling cancer for 14 years, he passed on to his heavenly home. He is survived by his loving wife Alba and children Colleen, Carol and Philip. He was predeceased by his son Mark, brother Bob and parents Allen and Dorothy Stevenson. Garry had a rich and full life, bringing his humour into every conversation. He was a man of strong integrity who put his family first. He was one of a kind and will be deeply missed by all who knew him, especially long-time friend Rick Nielsen and co-workers at CMBC. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Dr. Adi Mudaliar, Dr. Ercole Leone, and also the team at the BC Cancer Agency. Visitation will be held on Thursday,November 30, 2017 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Kearney Columbia-Bowell Chapel, 219 6th Street, New Westminster, B.C. Mass & Divine Mercy devotions will take place in lieu of prayers on Friday, December 1, 2017 from 7:30-8:30 p.m. at Holy Cross Church, 1450 Delta Avenue, Burnaby, B.C. Funeral Mass to be held on Saturday, Dec. 2nd, 2017, 10:30 a.m. at Holy Cross Church. Garry’s urn will be laid to rest near his son and parents at a later date.
