Obituary for Bob Seslija

Bob Seslija
It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Bob late on the evening of November 18th with family by his side.

Bob was born in Mountain Park Alberta, lived briefly in Drumheller, raised in Nanaimo and lived his life in Vancouver for the past 65 years with his wife Meleva by his side as his true partner for the entire 65 years of marriage, which they celebrated on May 17th, 2017.

Hard physical work characterized Bob’s life be it laboring on The Granville Street Bridge, the Dease Tunnel or for the decades he commercial fished up and down The West Coast of BC primarily on The JH Todd and The Abound and when not fishing he would splice wire rope for the Ironworkers on projects such as Lornex and Mica Creek.

Despite long absences from home due to work commitments he was very active in his community and was especially proud of his 60-year associations with The Free Mason and The Shriners as well as being a founding member of The Gulf and Fraser Fisherman’s Credit Union now G+ F Financial and The Serbian Orthodox Church.

He is survived by his loving wife Meleva of 65 years, sons Robert (Virginia), George (Marla) and nephews Brian (Karen), Gary (Carolyn), Cara (Mark), Greg (Patricia) and Mark (Marnie) and their children.

Many thanks to the caring and supportive staff at The Royal Arch Masonic Home to whom the family is most grateful and in lieu of any flowers or gifts, a donation to The Royal Arch Masonic Home would be appreciated.

Friends and Family are invited to attend a combined Birthday Party, Orthodox Christmas and Celebration of Life at The Point Grey Golf and Country Club located at 3350 SW Marine Dr, Vancouver BC at 4pm with a shirt program of speakers commencing at 4:45pm on Tuesday January 9th, 2018.
