Today is Dec 14, 2017 and I just heard about John's demise two days ago and he has been on my mind in myriad vignettes. Indeed, there are a lot of years of knowing him that provides a fertile spawning ground for those cameo visions. But I had been thinking about him before the news because I usually do when it comes up time for his birthday.
I was a friend of John's since grade 8 and I think that was 1959. He lived with me briefly after his Dad died. He met his first wife as I did mine through a common friend, Bob Trevissick. I think he picked me for his best man at his first wedding to Denise, at least I know it was my responsibility to bear the ring and get him to the church on time. I managed it with a quick car but he always had one faster. In fact he was a guy that you could not catch in any avenue of life. If you thought you did, he had a way of making you think that you only thought you did.
Unless it was humor. In my mind that is where the balance resided and was nourished in his presence.
We are certainly all unique, but John Huguet emanated an energy that impacted wave theory.
He was the brightest guy I ever knew, and although he could make your ears bleed with his latest accomplishments, he could make you laugh with a resounding permanence.
In my mind laughter is one of the most significant metrics of your life in motion and your retrospective view.
John Huguet left laughter in his wake.
Besides aligning ourselves with God, we should all do the same.
