Obituary for Eleanor Frances Whelan (O'Rourke)

Eleanor Frances Whelan (O'Rourke)
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our Mom, Eleanor Frances Whelan, on November 4, 2017, in Vancouver, BC, at the age of 88. Left to cherish her memory are her daughter Moya, sons Tony (Brenda), and Rob (Julia). Also left to mourn are her two grandsons, Joshua (Beth) and Mark Whelan, sisters Mary King and Frances Cornejo, brothers- and sisters-in-law, and many nieces, nephews, and friends. Mom was recently predeceased by her loving husband Richard (Dick) to whom she was married for 62 years. She was also predeceased by her parents, Michael and Catherine O'Rourke, brothers Raymond Walsh, Patrick Walsh, Kevin Walsh, Adrian Walsh, and Brian O'Rourke, and sisters Margaret Fairhead and Eileen Caines.

Mom always loved a bit of fun. Her great sense of humour will be missed.

Funeral service, followed by reception, will be held at Kearney Funeral Home, 450 West 2nd Avenue, Vancouver, on Monday, November 13, at 3:00 pm.

The family would like to thank the staff at Vancouver Hospice who helped Mom so much through her last weeks. Donations to the Vancouver Hospice Society would be gratefully appreciated. www.vancouverhospice.org
